The Chino Fair
Association is announcing their annual Professional Rodeo will be
held a month earlier on June 17-18-19, this year instead of July.
The new June dates were approved by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys
and Women’s Professional Rodeo associations. The date change was
done to avoid the summer heat and give more time to prepare the
fairgrounds for the annual Junior Livestock Fair and Demolition
Derby. The rodeo will feature Friday and Saturday evening rodeo
performances and a Sunday afternoon rodeo performance.
John Godinho, President of the Chino Fair Association and the
Board of Directors hope that this change in dates will help to
increase attendance on Sunday by giving families a chance to treat
their “Dad’s” on Father’s Day to a Professional Rodeo. And parents
wanting to show their appreciation can celebrate their children’s
graduation at the rodeo.
This year the Professional Rodeo will feature Rodeo Announcer Don
Jesser from Twin Falls, ID. Jesser has announced the Bucking Bull
and Horse Sale held during the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas,
the California Pro Rodeo Circuit Finals in Norco, the Senior Pro
Rodeo Finals and many other professional rodeos in his 15 year
career.
Rodeo Clown and Barrelman will be Rodney “Shotgun” Gaston from
Hockley, Texas. Gaston acts include Roman Riding, a trick car and a
trained mule. He was the 2001 Texas Pro Rodeo Circuit Barrelman and
nominated for Clown of the Year in 2001. Gaston has been
entertaining rodeo crowds for the past 12 years.
The bucking bulls and horses will be provided by Russell Rodeo
Company of Folsom, CA. The Russell family has been providing
professional rodeo with some of top bucking bulls and horses since
1963. The Russell Rodeo Company and its parent company, Western
Rodeos, Inc. has provided some of best bulls and horses at the
National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, the Pro Rodeo Tours and the
California Pro Rodeo Finals in Norco.
The proceeds from the rodeo go to Chino Fair Association which
uses it year-round to benefits several community groups and
children’s programs in the Chino Valley. The Chino Pro Rodeo is
looking for sponsors for the event. Those interested should contact
Ted Hoffman at 951-712-9582 or the Fair Office or Tony Cota at
